Ron Zakar joined MCPEI in September, 2007, as Coordinator of Special Projects. Ron graduated from Concordia University in Montreal with a degree in Sociology and Psychology. Following graduation, he worked as an audio producer in Montreal for CFCF Radio, in Toronto for CFRB and in Charlottetown for CBC. As a freelance audio producer, he has created and produced a number of national and international syndicated radio programs. His last syndicated program, a ‘mocumentary’ on the comedy group, Monty Python’s Flying Circus, won a gold medal award at the International Radio Festival of New York for the best comedy show. He has also produced a number of promotional videos for various clients including Rodd Hotels and Resorts here on Prince Edward Island.

Ron left the radio business in 1995 to work in the golf industry as Marketing Director and Event Coordinator, first at Silver Lakes Golf Club in Newmarket, and later at National Pines in Barrie.

Ron continues to produce videos for MCPEI. He is also responsible for organizing a number of MCPEI events including National Aboriginal Day, Aboriginal Awareness Week and the annual MCPEI General Assembly, as well as various conferences and workshops for MCPEI.
