Communications
The Communications Division of MCPEI is mandated to promote the people, programs and services of the Mi’kmaq Confederacy of PEI, as well as the members of PEI First Nations living on and off reserve.
We continue to build awareness of MCPEI and PEI First Nations throughout strategic cultural awareness events including National Aboriginal Day, Aboriginal Awareness Week, St. Anne’s Sunday, Canada Day, Remembrance Day, National Day of Action, Treaty Day, Annual General Assembly, as well as through our monthly newspaper, the Kwimu Messenger.
We play a leading role in the promotion of the stories of culture, individuals and heritage of PEI First Nations.
The MCPEI Communications Division is made up of three staff, the Director of Communications, Dennis King, Community Liaison, Julie Pellisier-Lush and Coordinator, Special Projects, Ron Zakar.
