Leeanne Yeo


Leeanne joined MCPEI in July 2010 as the Health Promotion Coordinator for the Lennox Island First Nation.  Leeanne received her Bachelor of Science degree (Nutrition Major) from UPEI and is a Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educator. Leeanne recently received yoga teacher training from Maureen Rae, Reg. N, E-YRT of Mississauga, ON and is also working towards personal training certification.

Previous employment experience includes teaching at UPEI and Holland College, Diabetes Educator with the Provincial Diabetes Program, Clinical Dietitian at Prince County, Queen Elizabeth and Hillsborough Hospitals and Health Information Specialist with Health PEI.  Leeanne is involved in several committees and initiatives such as School Nutrition Policy with the Healthy Eating Alliance of PEI, the Diabetes Working Group with Health PEI, and the Lennox Island Child Development Team.  

As the Health Promotion Coordinator, Leeanne’s priorities include Diabetes and chronic disease prevention and management, childhood obesity initiatives, and providing education and support to members of the community on living a healthy life.  Leeanne is also able to provide support in the area of physical activity to individuals and groups within the Lennox Island community.
