Angela MacDonald

Angela joined the Mi'kmaq Confederacy of Prince Edward Island in the fall of 2010 to work in the area of education as an Assessment Specialist. Angela received her BA and BED from the University of Prince Edward Island and her Masters of Education, specializing in counseling and special education, from the University of Calgary and the University of New Brunswick. Angela was also certified in Reality Therapy in Phoenix, Arizona.

Angela has been employed in Alberta and Prince Edward Island and has extensive experience as a teacher, principal, resource/special education teacher, Special Education Coordinator and Board Office Consultant. She has authored a number of journalistic and newspaper articles and taught off- campus courses for UPEI as well as being a national and international presenter in numerous areas of education. Recently Angela has done contract work in the field of education prior to joining MCPEI.
As an Assessment Specialist, Angela continues to follow her passion of helping children learn. She also has a great interest in helping schools develop such that they provide the best educational experiences possible for their students. Angela now resides with her family in Hills River, near Alberton.
