Tammy MacDonald

Tammy MacDonald joined the Mi'kmaq Confederacy as its Director of Research, in the Culture and Heritage department, in February, 2005. Since then, she has joined the Intergovernmental Affairs department as the Consultation Negotiation Coordinator and the Historical Researcher. As well, Tammy coordinates Mi'kmaq Educational Workshops, assists in the editing of the organization's professional publications, and is the Social Media developer for the Mi'kmaq Confederacy. 

She has a BA in Anthropology and Religious Studies and a Master of Arts degree in Religion and Culture. The focus of Tammy’s studies were historic cultures, therefore she has an abundance of experience in historical research. Tammy comes to MCPEI through varying career changes, such as an IE Technician with the Canadian Armed Forces, university student and Teaching Assistant, Meals on Wheels coordinator, and, always, a full-time mom of three.
