Craig MacDougall


Craig was born in Guelph, Ontario but grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  He graduated with his Bachelor’s of Recreation Degree from Dalhousie University in 1992.  After working for a few years, Craig returned to get his Associate in Education Degree from the Nova Scotia Teachers College majoring in Physical Education in 1996. 

Craig moved to Fort McMurray where he taught in the classroom and Physical Education to students from Kindergarten to grade 8 for 12 years.  He also had the opportunity to coach a variety of sports over these years.

Craig moved to Prince Edward Island in 2010 where he taught on the substitution list for three years before starting with the Mi’kmaq Confederacy of Prince Edward Island.  He also coached a variety of sports including the Men’s Volleyball Team PEI for the 2014 Canada Games.  

As the Aboriginal Sport Development Coordinator, Craig hopes to create an environment to expand present and nurture our future athletes through exposure to sports and coaching development.
