PEI Aboriginal Sports Circle presents
Hockey Skills and Drills Day

Summerside PE,  --- January 29, 2016

A special Hockey Skills and Drills Day will be held in February to promote hockey among Aboriginal youth on PEI.

The event is being held on Friday, February 26, 2016 at the Community Gardens Arena Complex in Kensington.  All Aboriginal youth in grades 4- 12 are invited to attend.

The agenda will feature two on-ice sessions and a number of classroom style discussions.

"Besides hockey skills, participants will gain awareness about the importance of healthy living, nutrition and proper conditioning," said Craig MacDougall, Sport Development Coordinator at the PEI Aboriginal Sports Circle. "We are encouraging all eligible youth to attend."

The PEI Aboriginal Sports Circle is a sport supporting organization that works with all Island Aboriginal people. The Sports Circle consists of representatives of Lennox Island and Abegweit First Nations and the PEI Native Council. The Sports Circle assists young Aboriginal Islanders to participate in local, regional and national sporting events, as well as promoting healthy living and an active lifestyle.
